In 2008, Michelle Durpetti and Denise McGowan founded McGowan Durpetti & Associates on the principle that event planners must be good sources of creative ideas combined with practical experience, flexibility and know-how to manage an event from beginning to end. Over the next two years McGowan Durpetti & Associates worked with various corporate, social and non profit clients, producing numerous events, including the top event of BizBash Chicago’s Top 100 Events list – the Green Tie Ball. Exhibit City News, the nation’s only tradeshow industry newspaper, named Michelle as one of their top 40 under 40 of 2009. Michelle is thrilled to have become a Board Member of the Chicago Chapter of Wish Upon A Wedding: the World’s first nonprofit wedding wish granting organization.

Gigi Durpetti
Gigi has been with Michelle Durpetti Events since its inception and likes to consider herself a founding member of the team. Gigi begins her morning with an office walk through, diligently checking each office making sure our team is on task. She always loves a good party and is the first one prancing on the dance floor. Gigi specializes in brightening everyone’s day and is a major asset to the team. Gigi enjoys being toted around in her carrier and the occasional 6 piece nugget. Look for Gigi in her upcoming movie debut.

Rachel
Rachel Sanger
Rachel graduated from Central Michigan University in May of 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Administration and Professional Sales. Throughout her early college years she was unsure with what career path was the best choice for her. She knew that she loved the idea of being a wedding planner and found the coordination and logistics side of the business very intriguing.

Emily Weinstein
Emily joined the MDE team in May of 2011 as an intern and jumped into her first wedding within a week of her start date. From the very first minute she joined the team, her organization, creativity, and impeccable attention to detail has made her stand out. Her enthusiastic personality, combined with a genuine commitment to making every wedding and event unique, has facilitated her quick transition from the role of an intern to Associate Event & Wedding Coordinator.

Michelle Durpetti Events (Formerly known as McGowan Durpetti & Associates) along with Chicago Social Brides presents An Evening in Eden at Galleria Marchetti. MDE will celebrate its re-launch and expansion with An Evening in Eden by showcasing our creative talent as well as the talent and creativity of our network of local, national and international vendors. In addition to being passionate about event production, MDE is also passionate about helping others. For this event, MDE is proud to donate a portion of the proceeds from the evening to two very worthwhile charitable organizations – Wish Upon A Wedding and Chicago Gateway Green.
