We can not wait to see this gorgeous purple and grey palette come to life for Kristin & Colby’s ultra-chic afternoon wedding at the Conrad Hilton! Not only are we excited because this will be our first wedding of the season, it is unlike any other wedding we’ve done so far! The couple has elected to have a very small, intimate ceremony with 25 of their closest friends and family.

We just know that Alex at Exquisite Designs is going to create some stunning floral to compliment the gorgeous, serene ballroom at the Conrad. And we can’t get over how much we love the light fixtures in the space! Bittersweet will be providing the delicious cake and Carasco Photography and Poetic Productions will be capturing every moment of the beautiful day!

Modern day weddings can run the gamut, from a small gathering of family for an afternoon ceremony to Kim Kardashian’s $10 million dollar bridal catastrophe (come on, we all watched it!). The one thing that stitches all wedding celebrations together are some long-held nuptial traditions like; having a best man and bridesmaids, tossing the bouquet and having the bride stand on the left of her groom, but have you ever wondered why these traditions came about? Well read on and find out, and be thankful that we live in modern times, because we definitely are after this history lesson!

We were thrilled to hear that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow and Spring is on the way! Maybe that’s not completely true, but we are definitely gravitating towards spring colors, warm get aways and some fun Valentine’s gifts to get us through this crazy week!

Jamie & Andrew – August 11, 2012

Jamie and Andrew’s wedding was truly a fashionably modern event! From the selection of the W Lakeshore as their reception space to Jamie’s FABULOUS sparkly Miu Mius, their wedding was breathtaking! They worked with the dark tones of the W’s ballroom to highlight their chic navy and metallic color scheme.
